Why Maintenance is Important
You may think that because you have a security fence installed that your site is safe and secure, but we are here to tell you that’s only the start. While it offers protection for you it is equally important to maintain your perimeter protection. In-fact, it is more important that some may think with many sites not carrying out inspections as often as they should. A lazy attitude towards the maintenance of security protection can lead to poor defences, timely and costly repairs, it could even invalidate your insurance claim should access be gained due to the lack of care taken towards your perimeter security.

Carry out regular routine inspections of the security fence line.
Note any defects found and report them.
Rectify any issues reported as soon as possible.
Inspecting the perimeter security
The perimeter of the fence line should be walked on foot where appropriate and inspected carefully, the fence line should be inspected from both sides of the fence; along the inside the site and from the attack front. When walking the perimeter of the fence line you should be looking for attempted breaches, damaged and weakened areas.
Your perimeter protection is exposed to the elements 24/7, adverse weather conditions will affect the integrity of your security fencing. To ensure your perimeters are as secure as can be you should inspect all fixtures and fittings such as T Bars, bolts etc are secure and in good working condition. The ground conditions surrounding the fence are just as important, take care to clear any dirt, debris, litter or anything that could obstruct the fence and report anything that may require further attention.
